Times are different, streaming services are experiencing more traffic than ever. Scrolling through Netflix….40 minutes go by and a decision hasn’t been made…we’ve all been there, probably last night (partially the reason I don’t hack Netflix). The list below is a go-to when looking for movies that all have a common theme, new places, and adventure, in many forms. Sincerely, a critic who enjoys classics, espresso, and back door bars.
I love watching movies (not a movie lover), more so watching movies with people who haven’t seen a favorite, the things we keep in our back pocket. That might sound narcissistic, but I love making others smile through some kind of activity or experience; whether that’s a new restaurant, attraction, essential, etc. in hopes they can take that with them to the next person. That’s a win in my eyes.
Disclaimer – these movies aren’t all about traveling – rather movies that take you on an adventure, bring you through the unknown, incorporate new cultures, customs, or a story placed in those far away destinations we tend to think about.
It’s ok to not be productive, point the toes north and treat this as a well-deserved act of escapism…but get your shit done prior.
The Talented Mr.Ripley
Indie Film – trust me
Emma Stone, Bradley Cooper – just a must watch
Eat, Pray, Love
Midnight in Paris
Murder On The Orient Express
Catch Me If You Can
favorite movie of all time – we’ve all seen it, but can’t watch it enough.
An interesting look at society – Marxism and Noam Chomsky inspired.
Isolated from society, Ben and Leslie devote their existence to raising their 6 kids — educating them to think critically, training them to be physically fit and athletic, guiding them in the wild without technology, and demonstrating the beauty of co-existing with nature. When Leslie dies suddenly, Ben must take his sheltered offspring into the outside world for the first time.
Crazy Rich Asians
Singapore tourism spike
I hope you enjoy this list, find a movie you haven’t seen and tune in tonight. Let me know your favorites in the comments or anywhere you can share via social. This list might not be what you expected, but I put in some thought that I believe can save you an hour before your next night-cap.
